
Jordan’s BRT Development Welcomes Indian Expertise—Join via IACCIA

In a formal communication recieved from the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the India & Arab Countries Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (IACCIA) has announced an official call to it’s associates, partners & premier busniess network to participate in Jordan’s ambitious Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project – Phase I. The invitation marks a significant milestone in Indo-Jordanian infrastructure cooperation, offering Indian businesses a gateway to contribute to a transformative urban mobility initiative through a globally recognized, transparent tender process.
The Ministry of Investment (MoIN) of Jordan has launched the Invitation for Prequalification for the Fare Collection System Operator of the BRT network, which spans the Greater Amman Municipality and the corridor between Amman and Zarqa. This marks a significant opportunity for companies specializing in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and automated fare collection technologies to contribute to Jordan’s urban mobility transformation.
Project Scope
The BRT Phase I includes two key operational roles:
1. Bus Rapid Transit Operator for intra-city and inter-city routes
2. Fare Collection System Operator for the entire BRT network
The selected private sector operator will contract with the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and implement the project through a competitive tender process aligned with global best practices. The Request for Qualification (RFQ) is the initial stage of this process, and only prequalified applicants will proceed to the final phase and receive the Request for Proposal (RFP).
RFQ Details
Interested companies or consortia may formally purchase the RFQ document for a non-refundable fee of JOD 1,000/-. The RFQ outlines technical, financial, and operational criteria for participation.

IACCIA’s members can apply as directed through official email. Indian businesses with relevant expertise are encouraged to submit their prequalification applications through IACCIA.
