IACCIA Hosts India-Oman Business Connect to Spotlight Khazaen Economic City as Gateway to Gulf Trade

New Delhi, September 17, 2025 — The India & Arab Countries Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (IACCIA), in collaboration with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in New Delhi and Optimax Aces, proudly co-hosted the India-Oman Business Connect event at the Ambassador’s residence. This landmark event underscored the deepening economic partnership between India and Oman, spotlighting Khazaen Economic City as a premier investment hub for Indian businesses seeking to expand into the Gulf and Indian Ocean regions.

His Excellency Ambassador Issa Saleh Abdullah Alshibani warmly welcomed Indian entrepreneurs, business leaders, and industry stakeholders, presenting Oman as a cost-effective, culturally aligned, and strategically located gateway for regional expansion. Dr. Waiel Awwad: Championing India-Arab Collaboration

In a compelling keynote address, Dr. Waiel Awwad, Secretary General of IACCIA, hailed the event as a milestone in fostering India-Arab economic cooperation. He highlighted IACCIA’s pivotal role since its establishment in 2016 as the only chamber recognized by Arab embassies, India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and the Arab League. Dr. Awwad emphasized the chamber’s unique governance structure, comprising representatives from 22 Arab countries and 22 leading Indian companies, alongside distinguished diplomatic figures, including ambassadors from Oman, Qatar, UAE, Lebanon, and Morocco, and senior officials from the Arab League.
Dr. Awwad underscored Oman’s geostrategic advantage as a launchpad for Indian businesses into the Arab world and North Africa, citing its stable governance, progressive policies, and investor-centric ecosystem. He outlined key sectors for collaboration:
