5-Oct-2025 Baghdad, Iraq
A high-level delegation from the India & Arab Countries Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (IACCIA), led by Mr. Kapil Suri, Trade Head of IACCIA, actively participated in the Iraq Investment Forum from 27-28 September 2025, a premier international platform highlighting Iraq’s vast and ready-to-implement investment opportunities.
The two-day forum, organized under the auspices of the National Investment Commission of Iraq, brought together key stakeholders from across sectors including energy, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, and technology. It showcased over 150 diverse investment opportunities and served as a bridge for global investors to engage with Iraq’s dynamic and reform-driven economic landscape.
Representing India’s growing interest in the Arab region, IACCIA’s delegation engaged deeply with Iraqi ministries, provincial investment commissions, and private sector leaders. The Chamber arranged a series of B2B meetings for IACCIA members, aligning Indian business interests with respective and prospective counterparts in Iraq, thus laying the groundwork for future commercial partnerships and joint ventures.
Also part of the delegation were Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, IACCIA’s Director for Health & Education, and Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Khan, IACCIA President for the States of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh.
The forum also featured detailed presentations on the Development Road Project and upcoming new city housing initiatives, offering Indian businesses significant opportunities in infrastructure development, smart cities, real estate, and allied sectors.
The IACCIA delegation also called on Mr. Tushar K. Uniyal, Second Secretary (Commerce & Political Affairs) at the Indian Embassy in Baghdad, to discuss emerging trade opportunities and ways to further strengthen India–Iraq commercial ties. The meeting focused on strategic sectors identified by both nations, and explored how Indian businesses could contribute to Iraq’s development roadmap while benefiting from the country’s expanding market.
With its strategic engagement at the Iraq Investment Forum, IACCIA reaffirmed its mission to be a vital conduit between Indian enterprises and the Arab economic bloc, unlocking access to high-impact investment opportunities and fostering inclusive economic growth across regions.
