
IACCIA and GTTCI Sign Strategic MoU to Strengthen India-Arab Trade and Innovation Ties
In a major move to deepen economic cooperation between India and the Arab world, the India & Arab Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (IACCIA) and the Global Trade & Technology Council of India (GTTCI) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IACCIA’s headquarters in New Delhi.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Waiel Awwad, Acting General Secretary of IACCIA, and Dr. Rashmi Saluja, Chairperson of GTTCI. The ceremony was attended by senior dignitaries from both organizations, including Mr. Rakesh Asthana (Chief Advisor, GTTCI), Mr. Jalaj Srivastava (General Secretary, GTTCI), and Mr. Shubham Gupta (Director, GTTCI).
This strategic agreement is designed to strengthen bilateral trade, investment, and innovation partnerships between India and the 22 member countries of the Arab League. These include major economies such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Sudan.
Dr. Gaurav Gupta, President of GTTCI, honored Dr. Waiel Awwad for his outstanding contributions to fostering India-Arab economic relations and hailed the MoU as a key milestone. “This agreement opens the door for Indian businesses to explore significant trade opportunities across the Arab world and forge impactful global partnerships,” he said.
The MoU reinforces IACCIA’s commitment to building structured, sustainable, and mutually beneficial economic linkages between India and Arab nations, with the shared goal of promoting growth, innovation, and prosperity.
