Strengthening Bilateral Ties: Sudanese Envoy, IACCIA Discuss Collaboration in Tech, Agriculture, Pharma

In a step towards enhancing economic cooperation and cultural exchange between India and Sudan, a courtesy meeting was held on Wednesday involving H.E. Mr.Mohammed Abdalla Ali Eltom, the Sudanese Ambassador to India, and Dr Waiel Awwad , Acting Secretary General of the India-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (IACCIA).

The discussions focused on expanding trade opportunities, fostering joint ventures, and exploring new avenues in agriculture, education, and technology. The parties shared a mutual commitment to deepening strategic collaboration and strengthening business-to-business partnerships.

The meeting underscored the growing importance of India-Arab relations, with Sudan playing a key role as a bridge between Africa and the Arab world. The India-Arab Chamber reaffirmed its dedication to supporting bilateral initiatives and facilitating meaningful dialogue among stakeholders.

“This is a pivotal moment to unlock the potential of our shared economic interests and cultural heritage,” said Dr Awwad, emphasizing the chamber’s role as a catalyst for trade and diplomatic engagement.

The Ambassador expressed Sudan’s interest in leveraging India’s technological expertise and invited Indian companies to explore investment opportunities in Sudan’s key sectors, like solar energy, mining, agriculture and pharmaceutical industries

This engagement marks a significant step in building long-term partnerships based on mutual respect, economic growth, and people-to-people connections.
