AARDO Delegation Visits IACCIA Headquarters to Strengthen Institutional Cooperation and Development Partnerships
In a significant step toward enhancing Afro-Asian cooperation and strengthening institutional partnerships for sustainable development, a high-level delegation from the Asian-African Rural Development Organization (AARDO) paid an official visit to the headquarters of the India & Arab Countries Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (IACCIA) in New Delhi.
The delegation, led by the Assistant Secretary General of AARDO and accompanied by Mr. Kamal Dhameja, Head of Capacity Building & Development Project and Administration Divisions, was warmly received by Dr. Waiel Awwad, Secretary General (In-charge) of IACCIA.
The meeting provided an important platform for constructive dialogue and exchange of views on expanding cooperation between the two organizations in areas of mutual interest. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in sustainable rural development, economic cooperation, entrepreneurship, capacity building, trade facilitation, and South-South cooperation across Asia, Africa, and the Arab world.
Both sides explored opportunities for integrated cooperation by leveraging the institutional strengths, expertise, and extensive networks of AARDO and IACCIA for the benefit of member countries and stakeholders. The discussions also highlighted the potential for joint initiatives in international training programme, knowledge-sharing platforms, technical cooperation, policy dialogue, and participation in regional and international development projects.
During the interaction, Dr. Waiel Awwad expressed strong interest in AARDO’s scholarship and international training programme aimed at human resource development and institutional capacity building throughout Asia and Africa. The AARDO delegation also briefed IACCIA on the advantages of Associate Membership and the opportunities it offers for strengthening institutional networking and collaborative development initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Waiel Awwad reaffirmed IACCIA’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with leading regional and international organizations that contribute to inclusive economic growth, sustainable development, and stronger cooperation among developing nations.
The meeting concluded on a highly positive and forward-looking note, with both organizations expressing their commitment to developing a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership that advances shared development goals and strengthens cooperation between Asia, Africa, and the Arab region.
